Small Christmas Gift Idea - Homemade Mandarin Jam
Another Christmas Recipe is here!
Use this Mandarin Jam Recipe if you prefer gifting something homemade and tasty for Christmas. The Quilted Crystal Jars look bright and festive, especially when you tie a rosemary sprig to it.
We harvested fresh Mandarins and Tangerines for this Jam Recipe at the local Orchard. I must say it was a lot of fun!
Enjoy this Mandarin Jam on a toast and with Brie cheese. Sometimes I simply add a spoon to my evening cup of tea.
So, let's make our small Christmas Gifts for coworkers and friends!
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 40-60 minutes
Servings: 2
Equipment: Pot, 8 oz (236 ml) Jars, Blender
Mandarin Jam Recipe Instructions:
Peel and Blend 10 Mandarins or Tangerines.
Transfer blended Mandarins into a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
3. Stir in 1 cup (250 g) of Sugar as it starts to boil.
4. Now let it cook uncovered for 40-60 minutes, stir occasionally.
5. Start stirring it frequently after about 25 minutes of cooking. Now, our future Jam thickens and can burn easily, so it's better to lower the heat and keep an eye on a pot.
6. Check if Jam is ready to be canned 40 minutes into cooking. Drop 1/2 tsp of Jam into cold water. If it doesn't melt away and holds its shape - it's ready.
7. Pour Jam into the 8 oz Jars and tighten the lids. I prefer to sterilize my jars in boiling water first.
8. Voila! You did it! Your Small Christmas Gift is Ready to be wrapped. Check out how my gifts turned out in the Video Recipe below.
